Harvie

The future is local.

Harvie exists to make local food the easy choice. Inspired by the Nordic REKO movement, we connect you to the farmers markets and producers near you — so the people growing your food, and the seasons shaping it, are part of your everyday.

The way we eat is broken — anonymous supply chains, food shipped across continents, and producers we never meet. To fix it, we have to start close to home.

This is Harvie

Making local food the easy choice for everyone.

It starts with soil, with seasons, with a farmer who wakes up before dawn because they care about what they grow. But somewhere between the field and your plate, that story gets lost.

Harvie exists to bring it back.

We are building a platform that connects you to the local farmers markets and producers near you — making it simple, accessible, and meaningful to choose food that is good for your body and gentle on the planet.

Because eating locally shouldn't be a privilege. It should be the easy choice.

Inspired by REKO

A nod to the REKO rings that started it all.

REKO — short for Rejäl Konsumtion, “fair consumption” — began in Finland in 2013 and spread across the Nordics as a simple, radical idea: producers and consumers meeting directly, with no middlemen, no waste, and no anonymous supply chain. Today there are hundreds of rings across Sweden, Finland and beyond.

The values behind it are the values behind Harvie: transparency, trust, fairness, seasonality, and a real human relationship between the person who grows the food and the person who eats it.

We are customers ourselves. Arianna has been shopping at REKO for more than five years, and Elizabeth ran a small home bakery — selling sourdough through several rings in the north of Stockholm. We know first-hand how good this model feels, and how hard it can be to find the next pickup.

Harvie is our way of bringing that spirit onto a map everyone can use.

Our co-founders

Two disciplines, one shared conviction.

Elizabeth Vargas, co-founder of Harvie

Co-founder · Technical Product Manager

Elizabeth Vargas

A Technical Product Manager with 15 years building products in high-growth tech environments, mainly around cloud infrastructure at King. She is also a baker, a food lover, and someone who believes deeply that what we put in our bodies matters. Her goal is to live to 90 in great shape, and she is convinced the path there runs through real, local, nutritious food.

Passionate about sustainability and animal rights, she is driven by the conviction that we can make better choices without destroying the planet in the process.

She grew up in Mexico, surrounded by weekly farmers markets. In her search for that connection, she found REKO markets: a place to buy local food and rebuild a meaningful relationship with what ends up on her plate.

That belief is what sparked Harvie.

Co-founder · Service Designer

Arianna Inverardi

Arianna brings a rare combination of academic depth and human warmth. With an MA in Intercultural Studies from Aarhus University, she has spent her career thinking about how people connect across difference — in workplaces, communities, and cultures. Her background spans HR, social entrepreneurship, and six years in hospitality across Europe, giving her an instinct for what people need before they know how to ask for it.

How we met

We met at Hyper Island — Elizabeth studying Emerging Technologies for Creatives, Arianna exploring Service Design for Circular Economy. Two different disciplines, one shared conviction: the way we produce and consume food is broken, and fixing it starts locally.
